‘He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.’ – Isaiah 53:7Isaiah 53-7
The humility of Christ is unmatched. I’m thinking about the time when Judas (the betrayer) brought the temple guards to arrest Jesus. When they asked if He was the Jesus they sought. Jesus answered, “I am He” and the power of His words caused all of them to back up and fall to the ground. (John 18:4-6). Yet during the times of ridicule, false accusations and torture, He didn’t say anything! He suffered through it all for me even though just His words could’ve destroyed His adversaries.
He could’ve easily gotten away from the impending pain, torment, and death but He chose to remain humble for you and me. (Matthew 26:47-54) What a mighty Savior we have in Jesus!
